With a personal loan an individual who was willing to take a chance on my passion for Photography the Photo Shoppe was purchased and Armadillo Camera was established in December of 1980. Having been employed at the Photo Shoppe I was able to assemble a small team with an equal enthusiasm for photography and the journey began.
Two of the most important underlying premises of Armadillo Camera have always been to promote the joy of photography and to always treat our customers like we would want to be treated.
To this end our knowledge of photography has always been at our customers disposal. Early on we decided to offer a free six hour photo class to customers who purchased a SLR camera. To date we have taught over two hundred six hour photo classes.
Over the thirty two years we have been business we have maintained the largest inventory of photographic equipment and supplies on the South Plains.
We have never had our sales staff work on a commission to help ensure that the proper equipment is matched to our customers needs.
Twenty one years ago we expanded our services to include photo finishing. We can now safely make the claim the we have the most experienced print makers in this region of Texas.
Thanks so much to our customers, individuals, multiple generations of family’s, government entities, schools, universities and friends for allowing us to sustain Armadillo Camera for the last three decades.
